Moonwalk 12 miler

3 giant moonwalkers and a dwarf moonwalker
Getting harder now! 12 miles expected of us for the big walk this week! Must remember to pack some fish, chips and mushy peas as that's what I craved around the 10 miler!

This one starts at Corbridge, goes along the river to Riding Mill, west out of Riding Mill and up towards Dipton wood. It skirts the south side of the wood then we cut through the middle (watch out for goblins), round to Temperley Grange and DOWN the geet massive hill to the station. Its slightly longer than 12 miles, but as you can see burns LOADS of calories!

Moonwalk 10 miler

Things are starting to get a little harder now! We're up to 10 miles as our 'long walk' of the week.

The clocks spring forward an hour on Saturday night though, so hopefully we'll have a few more hours of daylight to help us squeeze the long'uns in.

Someone recommended the footpath along the river from Riding Mill to Corbridge so I've tried to devise a route from Corbridge that includes that. It works out at exactly 10 miles - but unfortunately I've thrown in the long steep hill up Prospect Hill - sorry! - good for the heart and lungs though!

These are pics of us on the 'home straight' along the river from Riding Mill to Corbridge. We thought it was going to be all lovely and flat after climbing the steep hills at the start of the walk, when out of nowhere, a MASSIVE hill appeared. Just about finished me off!!! Lovely walk though.

Moonwalk 6 miler

During the week, the training programme says we should walk some shorter routes.

Here's a 6 miler from Corbridge that should be completed in roughly 1.5 hours. A good brisk pace!

Moonwalk 8.77

Here's a walk that's 8.77 miles.
We're supposed to be doing 8 miles this weekend, but if you stop at the tea and tipple on the way back...or even one of the pubs in Corbridge then we maybe won't feel that extra 0.77 miles!

Incidentally, this walk is supposed to burn off 1262 calories, so lash some extra butter on the scone!

Moonwalk 7 miler

Just been checking out a great website called 'run, walk, jog' where you can plot your walking route and it tells you exactly how far the walk is. This route is 7 miles. Probably about right for this week's walk.
